January through March, each Monday   Each Monday the museum will be closed to the public.
January 15, Sunday  2:30 p.m Lackawanna Audubon Society Annual Membership Meeting, at the Anthracite Heritage Museum.  Help the Lackawanna Audubon Society plan the year ahead, and let them know of anything that you think might be helpful to the group.  The meeting, as usual, will also be a forum at which you may show off your nature photographs.  If you have photographs that you wish to show, please call President Bill Speare at (570) 586.8343.

Martin Luther King, Jr., Day, closed.

January 21, Saturday 2:30 p.m. Knox Mine Disaster Program, at the Anthracite Heritage Museum.
February 19, Sunday 2:30 p.m. Lackawanna Audubon Society Program, at the Anthracite Heritage Museum.  Explore Russia with Lackawanna Audubon Society member Alan Hughes!
February 20, Monday   Presidents National Holiday, closed.
March 11, Sunday Noon to 5 p.m. Pennsylvania Charter Day, Free Admission Day to PHMC sites and museums.  At 2 p.m., Karol Weaver, Associate Professor of History at Susquehanna University, will present a program entitled: “Neighborhood Women: Medical Caregivers in the Anthracite Region,” in the Anthracite Heritage Museum auditorium. 
March 18, Sunday 2:30 p.m Lackawanna Audubon Society Program, at the Anthracite Heritage Museum.  Society President Bill Speare will present highlights from his recent trip to Alaska, including Barrow, Fairbanks and Denali National Park!
March 25, Sunday 2:30 p.m. Curator and maple syrup maker John Fielding will present a program on Making Maple Syrup, at the Anthracite Heritage Museum.  The snow date for this program is Sunday, April 1st at 2:30 p.m.
 

The Pennsylvania Anthracite Heritage Museum and 
Iron Furnaces, administered by Chester Kulesa, Site Administrator,
 are two of three sites that  make up the Anthracite Museum Complex, 
which also includes 
Eckley Miner's Village
.
The Museum and Iron Furnaces are owned and operated by the 
Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Historical and Museum 
Commission, Harrisburg, PA.
