 n the northern anthracite coalfield (the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton areas).  A
  particular focus is on a newly formed labor union\, the United Anthracite
  Miners of Pennsylvania (1933-1935)\, which challenged both the coal compa
 nies and John L. Lewis and the United Mineworkers of America.  The book i
 s currently under review by Penn State University Press.
