Anthracite Heritage Museum and Lackawanna Coal Mine Tour

The museum will be closed to the public January and February.  Open hours from March through December, Friday-Sunday, 10 am – 5 pm; however, groups of ten or more may call in advance to make an appointment for a guided tour.  Available most days of the week all year.

On a tour of the museum visitors will experience the lives and labors of proud people who endured harsh working conditions, yet carved out communities filled with tradition. The diverse collection highlights life in the mines, mill and factories. Visitors are welcomed into the family’s homes and neighborhoods with a moment of reflection in the kitchen exhibit, a visit to a saloon or a seat in a local church.
