About the Site

The Pennsylvania Anthracite Heritage Museum and Iron Furnaces, administered by Bode Morin, are two of three sites that make up the Anthracite Museum Complex, which also includes Eckley Miner’s Village.

The Museum and Iron Furnaces are owned and operated by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Historical and Museum Commission, Harrisburg, PA.

CREDITS: This site was custom designed for the Anthracite Heritage Museum during the Spring of 2015 by undergraduate students majoring in Graphic Design at Marywood University. This project was developed as a service learning assignment in Art 441I: Interactive Design II under Sue Jenkins, Assistant Professor of Art. Museum HOURS:

Museum closed January and February. Group tour, rental, and research reservations available.

Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, March through December, 10 am - 4 pm

Museum Office Hours: Monday through Friday, 9 am - 5 pm. Last entry at 4pm.

Scranton Iron Furnaces hours:
Dawn to dusk throughout the year.
